Town of Clayton Attends ICSC Carolinas
The Town of Clayton participated in the ICSC conference on March 30th & 31st, joining thousands of industry leaders focused on expanding retail opportunities across growing communities. Clayton’s Economic Development team was on-site meeting with retail developers and national brands to highlight the town’s strong market fundamentals and rapidly expanding customer base.
With continued population growth, strategic transportation access, and successful mixed‑use projects already underway, Clayton is well-positioned for new retail, dining, and entertainment investment. The trade area in town limits is 963.7 billion square feet, with total economic activity of $318.3 billion. Attending ICSC allows the Town to share current development activity, promote priority commercial corridors, and build relationships that support long‑term economic vitality.
Throughout the event, the Town of Clayton is showcasing key sites, demographic insights, and opportunities that align with retailer’s needs. Currently, the Town of Clayton has an unmet demand of $559 million. The goal: attract high‑quality businesses that enhance resident amenities, strengthen the local tax base, and contribute to Clayton’s reputation as one of the fastest‑growing communities in the region.
The Town looks forward to productive conversations and to welcoming new partners who see Clayton as the right place to grow.
