Clayton Clovers Recognize Top Summer Reading Challenge Stars
As we reflect on the amazing accomplishments of this summer’s Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library Summer Reading Challenge, we’re thrilled to celebrate our top readers! The Clayton Clovers baseball team joined in the fun by recognizing these outstanding Homerun Readers during their game on Sunday, June 21.
The top five readers were honored in front of the crowd and received special prize bags. These exceptional readers collectively logged an impressive 9,000 minutes of reading since mid-June. This year’s winners are:
- Caroline G., age 9 (first place with about 2,500 minutes)
- Jordan C., age 11
- Rosalyn C., age 7
- Daphne C., age 11
- Waylon F., age 11
Caroline G. shared, “I love a lot of different books. My favorites right now are the A to Z Mysteries, Nancy Drew, American Girl books, and a series called Ordinary People Change the World. I especially enjoy mysteries and historical fiction.”
