Clayton Comes Together to Brighten Holidays for Western NC Families

Thanks to the kindness of our residents and staff, this year’s Holiday Toy Drive will make the holidays brighter for many children in western North Carolina. Organized by the Town of Clayton Wellness Committee, the drive collected hundreds of toys, books, games, and other gifts to support families impacted by Hurricane Helene.

This year’s donations are headed to Jimmy and Jeans Family Entertainment and Arcade in West Jefferson. The 70,000-square-foot facility has paused regular operations to dedicate itself solely to collecting and distributing items to families in need. With 600 children registered to receive toys, the generosity of our community will make a meaningful impact.

From dolls and action figures to puzzles, art supplies, and sports equipment, every donation represents a moment of joy for a child in need. Town employees also joined in the giving spirit, bringing items to the annual Employee Holiday Luncheon. Together, we showed the strength of a community united by compassion.

Members of the Wellness Committee are making the trip to deliver these donations, ensuring they reach the families who need them most. The Town of Clayton is proud to support this meaningful cause, and we thank every resident and employee who made it possible.
