Clayton Team Strengthens Emergency Response Skills with EOC Training
During the week of January 13, around 40 Town of Clayton employees participated in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) All-Hazards Event Training at the Johnston County Emergency Services Public Safety Center. This hands-on training, led by the experts at Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), focused on preparing our team to handle large-scale incidents with confidence and precision.
If you’re not familiar with TEEX, they’re a big deal in the world of emergency response training. Known across the U.S. and beyond, they deliver federally funded programs and custom courses that help communities prepare for the unexpected.
Throughout the sessions, our team practiced making critical decisions, coordinating resources, and managing information under pressure – all within a simulated Emergency Operations Center. It was a realistic, high-stakes environment designed to sharpen skills and build confidence.
This training highlights the Town of Clayton’s commitment to working together with Johnston County Government, Clayton Fire Department, and Clayton Police Department to ensure we’re ready for anything. By practicing now, we’re reinforcing our ability to respond as a team when it matters most because keeping Clayton safe is always our top priority.
