Discover Free Family Fun in Clayton This Summer

As the unofficial start to summer kicks off, the Town of Clayton is sharing an array of activities that boast free family fun.

Children, teens, and adults can make the most of their time outdoors, enjoying warmer days and more daylight, by visiting different spots around the Town. Over the next few months, explore all that Clayton has to offer with our official guide to summer.

  • Stay cool with the Splash Pad at Municipal Park (325 McCullers Drive), open 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., daily.
  • Keep active on sporting fields and courts, or have a picnic at any of our parks, listed here.
  • Experience unique outings with our inclusive Harmony Playground, interactive StoryWalk, and 18-hole Disc Golf Course at East Clayton Community Park (1774 Glen Laurel Road). 
  • Learn something new by attending any of the 50+ planned programs at Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library (100 South Church Street), open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday – Thursday; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday; and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday.
  • Take home engaging materials by accessing books, board games, video games, and activity kits with a library card, or browse through our library’s entire collection here.
  • Download or pick up a Sculpture Trail brochure to view a dozen public art pieces at notable landmarks around the Town.
  • Head Downtown for live entertainment during our Concert Series, running 6:30 – 9 p.m., Thursday, June 20 (featuring an Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band); Thursday, August 15 (featuring Carolina Pine and Amy Jae; and Friday, September 6 (featuring Kids in America: Totally 80s Tribute)

“When it comes to summer enjoyment, Clayton is the perfect destination,” said Communication Director Nathanael Shelton. “We invite everyone to experience the creative, engaging, and growing amenities and events that our Town has to offer. The best part – they won’t break the bank. We want to remove financial barriers and offer free access to fun for families in our community.”
