Empowering Clayton: The Impact of Administrative Professionals

At the Town of Clayton, administrative professionals are indispensable when it comes to supporting departments and making sure tasks are completed efficiently. On Administrative Professionals Day, the Town takes a moment to recognize Emily Denison, an administrative support associate, for her unwavering commitment to service and her important role in the Town’s operations. Her efforts contribute significantly to the smooth delivery of services and creating positive experiences for Clayton residents.

Denison joined the Town two years ago, beginning in The Clayton Center’s box office before transitioning to the administration office. In her current position, she helps streamline processes and offers crucial assistance across multiple departments. Her passion for helping others shines through in everything she does, always striving to make a lasting difference.

“From the very beginning, I knew this was where I wanted to be,” said Denison. “I’ve spent much of my life doing service work, especially in nonprofits. The Town of Clayton is such a great place to work, and I love being able to contribute to the betterment of the community.”

Her role combines creativity, organization, and problem-solving. Denison manages various tasks from graphic design and writing newsletters to facilitating communication between departments and addressing challenges. Her work requires a range of skills, including effective communication, teamwork, and a keen understanding of each department’s needs.

“Communication is key to making things work,” explained Denison. “I spend a lot of time connecting the right people and ensuring information flows smoothly between departments. Whether it’s helping the information scientists talk to the water resources technicians or working to get residents the answers they need, it’s all about facilitating communication.”

One of Denison’s most fulfilling moments recently came when she helped a resident resolve a cable installation issue. By working across departments, she quickly found a solution.

“It’s moments like those that make this job so fulfilling,” Denison reflected. “Being able to help people, whether it’s a resident or a colleague, is what makes every day worth it.”

Denison’s impact extends beyond her daily duties. She has made valuable contributions to the Town’s ongoing strategic plan, which is shaping the community’s future. As Clayton moves forward with its ambitious goals, Denison has been essential in helping keep the strategic plan on course.

“The strategic plan is a huge priority for the Town right now, and I’m proud to be part of the team making it happen,” said Denison. “From facilitating meetings to tracking progress, I help make sure every department is aligned and contributing toward the same goal. It’s exciting to see how these efforts are shaping Clayton’s future.”

Her attention to detail and expertise in fostering cross-departmental communication has been valuable in organizing and executing the Town’s strategic initiatives. Denison actively gathers feedback from various departments, coordinates planning sessions, and assists leadership in making sure each action step aligns with the Town’s broader objectives.

Above all, Denison finds joy in working with the people in the Town of Clayton.

“The Town is a wonderful place to be, and it’s the people that make it special,” she says. “I’m so lucky to be part of such a great team. Every day brings something new, and I love that I get to work with people who share the same passion for making our town a better place.”
