NC Governor Makes Stop in Clayton for Water Reclamation Facility Tour
The Town of Clayton was proud to host NC Governor Roy Cooper at the Sam’s Branch Water Reclamation Facility Construction Site on Thursday, August 1.
This construction project, slated for completion in fall 2025, is a key infrastructure investment for Clayton’s future that would not have been possible without the generous support and vision of our state and federal leaders, and the American Rescue Plan Act. As the Town continues to flourish, ensuring sustainable and efficient water infrastructure is more important than ever. This $280 million facility is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together at all levels of government.
Others who joined the Governor to tour the site include the NC Dept of Environmental Quality Secretary Elizabeth Biser, Congressman Wiley Nickel, NC House Representative Donna McDowell White, Town Council and Town of Clayton staff who have been working hard to bring this project online.
