Small Business Saturday Celebrates Downtown Clayton’s Local Charm

Small Business Saturday is just around the corner, providing a fantastic opportunity to explore Downtown Clayton. With more than 250 businesses calling it home – including unique shops, eateries, professional services, and activity spaces – visitors can immerse themselves in a vibrant mix of attractions and the warmth of local hospitality.

This year, the downtown experience is even more exciting with around a dozen new businesses joining the community. These fresh additions, from Main Street to surrounding areas, bring renewed energy and variety, making Small Business Saturday an exciting occasion to explore what’s new and celebrate the heart of Clayton.

“Supporting small businesses is about more than shopping – it’s about strengthening the community,” said Community Events and Engagement Coordinator Amy Shearin. “Every purchase helps create jobs, foster connections, and contribute to the vitality of Downtown Clayton.”

Horne Square will serve as the hub of Small Business Saturday activity where the Downtown Development Association will distribute 200 branded tote bags, beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 30. These totes will include coupons, promotional items, and even gift certificates from local businesses. The Clayton Farm and Community Market will also be present, showcasing fresh, locally sourced products and complementing the day’s attractions.

“Downtown Clayton is growing every day, and Small Business Saturday highlights the one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, and services that make the area special,” said Downtown Development Advisory Board Chair Christi Thompson. “Shopping local is an investment in the future of Clayton.”

Retail establishments will have additional Downtown Clayton tote bags for giveaways while restaurants and bars will distribute branded koozies. Small Business Saturday provides a chance to celebrate the businesses that make the Town distinctive and to support their ongoing success.
