Town of Clayton Internship Opportunities

The Town of Clayton is now accepting applications for four paid internship positions. These temporary roles give students and young adults the chance to work alongside professionals, learn more about public service, and explore different career paths within local government.

Every April, National Internship Awareness Month highlights the importance of internships in helping individuals gain real-world experience, develop professional skills, and prepare for their future careers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, about 60% of college students say internships helped them decide what job to pursue.

In recognition of this, Clayton is offering valuable internship opportunities. It is currently accepting online applications for the following positions:

  • Budget and Performance Intern (for college juniors or seniors)
  • Engineering Intern (for college juniors or seniors)
  • Inspections Intern (open to individuals, age 16 and up)
  • Water Resources Intern (open to individuals age, 16 and up)

Deadlines are quickly approaching, so anyone interested is encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

“These internships provide a unique opportunity for participants to experience firsthand the impact of local government on the community,” said Human Resources Technician Anthony Brown-Davis. “Interns will not only build their professional skills but also contribute to meaningful projects that make a difference.”

Internships do more than fill up a summer. Brown-Davis stressed they can also lead to long-term career success.

“The people you meet during an internship can help you grow in your career,” said Brown-Davis. “Some of our interns have gone on to work with us full-time because of the strong relationships they built during their time here.”

In fact, more than 50% of interns are offered full-time jobs after completing their internship, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
