Dig into Spring at Clayton’s Annual Plant Sale

The Johnston County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, in collaboration with Clayton Parks and Recreation, invite the community to their much-anticipated annual Plant Sale – a longtime favorite that continues to draw strong crowds each year. Held at the Clayton Community Center, the event offers a wide selection of plants from trees and shrubs to native species, annuals, perennials, vegetables, and herbs. It’s a great opportunity for both experienced gardeners and beginners to find something new to grow and enjoy.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping the community stay active and connected through outdoor experiences. Gardening is an easy, rewarding way to spend time outside, learn new skills, and support personal well-being. Events like this make those benefits accessible while creating a space for neighbors to gather, explore, and be inspired.

Younger visitors can join in the fun at the Little Sprouts Station where kids can create and take home their own sticker floral wreath. It’s a simple, hands-on activity that adds a creative element to the day and helps spark an early interest in plants and nature.

The sale takes place from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, April 11 at 715 Amelia Church Road. Proceeds support Extension Master Gardener volunteer outreach programs, helping expand educational efforts and resources across Johnston County.
