Step into a hands-on career and be part of the team that keeps Clayton running. The Town invites job seekers to attend a special Operations Hiring Event from 3 – 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 23 in Council Chambers at Town Hall (111 East Second Street). This in-person event focuses on current job openings in the Water Resources, Public Works, and Electric Departments. 

Attendees will have the chance to meet hiring managers, ask questions, and participate in on-site interviews. Department staff will discuss open positions, describe a typical day on the job, and explain how each role supports the vital services that keep Clayton strong and growing. Those attending are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their résumé. 

More than half of the open positions are in preparation for the new Sam’s Branch Water Reclamation Facility, which is scheduled to open in early 2026. The Town’s current treatment plant, built in the 1950s, is nearing the end of its useful life. The new facility will treat up to six million gallons of wastewater per day and help meet the Town’s growing needs. 

The Town is hiring for all skill levels. Positions include Electric System Director, Instrumentation Control Technician, Laboratory Technician, Plant Operations Supervisor, and Utility Maintenance Mechanic.
